Question 1

How long am I actually in the air?

Accepted Answer

Six to ten minutes at up to 400 feet, inside a trip that runs about an hour dock to dock. Flights cycle through the boat's guests, so you also get a bay cruise around your airtime.

Question 2

Is it frightening?

Accepted Answer

It's the calm kind of thrill. The winch pays out line so gradually that most flyers are surprised how gentle the lift feels — and at altitude it's quiet enough to hold a conversation. Nerves usually stay on the deck.

Question 3

How old do you have to be?

Accepted Answer

Five and up. Kids fly harnessed on the same canopy as a parent, and up to three people can fly together within the 450-pound combined limit.

Question 4

Do I have to swim?

Accepted Answer

No. Launch and landing happen dry on the boat's flight deck, and everyone wears a vest regardless. The only water contact is the optional toe-dip — ask the crew on the way down.

Question 5

Can I fly while pregnant?

Accepted Answer

No — pregnancy is the one hard no on the flight deck, for the same harness-pressure reasons as most rides.

Question 6

How does the pricing work?

Accepted Answer

Member rate and non-member rate, like a hotel. Members book at the lower number and settle tax and marina fee at check-in; pricing is per flyer, so a tandem doesn't cost more than two solos. Live rates stay on the parasailing page.

Question 7

What's the deposit to book?

Accepted Answer

Ten dollars online holds your slot. The balance is settled at check-in at the marina.

Question 8

What happens if weather grounds us?

Accepted Answer

Lightning grounds every flight, full stop. Weather cancellations convert to a marina credit that is valid for 2 years — no cash refunds, and no pressure on anyone to fly a sky that shouldn't be flown.

Question 9

Can a big group fly?

Accepted Answer

Yes — flights cycle up to three at a time, and groups split between the canopy and the water toys. Tell us the headcount and we'll shape the trip.

Question 10

Where do we check in?

Accepted Answer

Pier 9, Dinner Key Marina — 3400 Pan American Drive in Coconut Grove. Park at Pay By Phone Lot 62 and walk down to the yellow smiley-face flags.

Question 11

What should I bring?

Accepted Answer

Sunscreen, a strapped hat or none, and sunglasses with a leash. Come dressed comfortably — you won't get wet unless you request the dip.

Question 12

Can someone ride along without flying?

Accepted Answer

Yes — spectators can join the boat for a small fee, space permitting. Grandparents and photographers do it every day.

Question 13

How do photos work?

Accepted Answer

The crew offers a media package at check-in — they shoot your flight from the boat so your phone stays safely zipped away.
